Hever Castle Golf Club Kent
Hever Castle Golf Club lies just a short drive from Junction 5 or 6 of the M25 making it easily accessible, however when you step on to the first tee a feeling of being “Far from the Madding Crowd” quickly takes over.
The Championship Course, comprised of the Kings and Queens 9s, was showcased on Sky Sports as a venue for the EuroPro Tour in 2010. It has also hosted many other prestigious events including The Kent Open and Kent PGA Championship and has provided a fitting examination for many PGA Professionals, however with numerous teeing positions the course becomes a gentler, fairer and truly enjoyable game of golf for all abilities.
At a glance of the scorecard one of the longest holes in Europe, the 644 yard Par 5 seventeenth hole, certainly stands out; but Hever Castle Golf Club boasts an array of stunning holes across it’s 7002 yard, par 72 layout. The delightful short sixth and eighth holes on the front nine are both played over water, and a beautiful stretch of holes from the eleventh to the thirteenth (Hever Castle’s very own “Amen Corner”) where carries over water and small slick greens have to be negotiated to keep your scorecard intact.
The Championship layout is also complimented by the 2784 yard Par 35 Princes nine hole course, which is a wonderful layout in its own right and kept in the same great condition of its 7000 yard Par72 neighbour. Also on offer is a Hybrid Course which blends the Princes and Kings 9’s to create a very enjoyable 18 holes at 6076 yards, par 71. This course has a wonderful blend of hazards from tight tree lined fairways to beautifully presented water hazards, strategically placed bunkers and small greens.
