The Old Hall set in the centre of Buxton opposite the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens gently blends with the warmth and well being of an ancient coaching hotel, yet there is a state of the art technology and modern efficiency, together with all those personal and caring ingredients which make it a special place. The Old Hall truly is the perfect venue for a special occasion.

There are thirty eight very comfortable and sympathetically furnished bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, satellite TV, hairdryer, radio, direct dial telephone and hospitality tray. There is also a lift to all floors. All of our bedrooms are non-smoking, offering bed and breakfast or dinner bed and breakfast rates as well as many seasonal special breaks.

The halls of this ancient hotel have many tales to tell- and some of the rooms too. You can stay in Queen Mary’s Bower, believed to be a part of Mary Queen of Scots original apartments and our grandest room with a four poster bed.

When you have settled into your room or rested a while, why not wander down and enjoy an aperitif in the Theatre Bar, the rich surroundings of the George Potter Bar or a cup of our very finest coffee or tea in one of our lounges?

The Old Hall also offers the very best in traditional and contemporary A la Carte cuisine from around the world, amidst sumptuous surroundings and overlooking beautiful views. Fresh local produce combined with a wine cellar to match the demands of the most informed diners and wine connoisseurs. Also open early and late for pre and post theatre dinners.
